Common Name: Cottonwood, Cottontree
   
Family: Malvaceae
   
Form and Size: A small tree, 6 - 9m high with a spreading rounded crown.
   
Distribution: Qld, N.S.W. and N.T.; from the Gulf of Carpentaria to north - eastern N.S.W.; on coastal dunes and in near coastal forests and vine forests.
   
Flowering Period: December to May.
   
Cultivation/Notes: Propagate from seed or cuttings. A fast growing plant which is an excellent shade or screen tree. Will do well in well drained soil if supplementary water is available.
